As a 501c3 non-profit, we have the unique honor of serving as a fiscal sponsor for Wichita Public Schools fundraising efforts across the district. Partnering with the WPS Foundation to raise philanthropic dollars for your organization provides the following benefits:
- Donor Management - Your donor information is securely maintained in our donor database, accessible to you at any time.
- Tax-Deductible: As a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, all gifts made to the WPSF are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We track the fair-market value (FMV) of each gift and notify donors of the tax-deductible portion.
- Gift Acknowledgement: In compliance with IRS regulations, we send acknowledgment letters for all gifts. The Foundation covers all printing and mailing costs.
- Gift Acceptance: Donations may be mailed or sent via ACH directly to the Foundation. We cover all ACH transfer fees and distribute funds to the district monthly.
- Fund Administration Once received, funds are allocated to a designated project under the oversight of the Wichita Public Schools Grants Office or payment is made directly to your vendors, depending on your preferences.
- We do not charge any administrative fees, and provide all above services at no cost to your group.
This is a general request form open to building administrators and AMAC staff who have a special request for one-time funding. Requests to this page should only be submitted if it does not qualify for Tommy's Fund, Love Schools, Classroom Grants or other WPSF funding. Additionally, requests should only be submitted after you've discussed your request with your WPS Budget Analyst and look for other ways to fund this request.
Tommy's Fund provides basic needs included but not limited to: rent and utility assistance, transportation repairs, furniture, clothing and shoes. Funding request must by submitted by a WPS school-based social worker, psychologist, counselor, nurse or administrator.
Staff may submit one request up to $1,000 per family per school year.
Examples of support Tommy's Fund does not fund:
- legal fees
- short term solutions for long term problems, for example, if a family can't pay rent in September and needs assistance but has no plan to pay rent in october, we are unlikely to approve the request
- medical bills
- collections/credit cards/loans/car payments
- requests that are non-emergent, this fund is intended to support families experiencing financial hardship or emergency situations.
- student fees
Classroom Grants are open to all Wichita Public Schools full-time school based staff. One grant up to $1,000 will be awarded per staff member during the 2026-27 school year.
Grant Requirements:
- must benefit students in Wichita Public Schools
- cannot request curriculum, or other similar materials that are approved through AMAC
- request must be used in a classroom, or school setting and directly support learning
Example requests that do not qualify:
- field trip entrance fees
- school supplies
- t-shirts
- basic needs for students - please apply through Tommy's Fund
- transportation
- gift cards
- Food

- 3d printers
- coffee shop run by mixed abilities students
- starting a classroom vegetable garden
- summer reading camp
- chicken coop
- flexible seating
